Get Ahead of Problems Before the Heat Finds Them.
Air conditioner maintenance
Most AC breakdowns don’t come out of nowhere.
Maintenance is how you catch those problems early.
An AC tune-up gives a technician time to inspect, clean, and test the equipment, then tell you about anything that needs attention before it turns into a breakdown.
Fewer surprises during peak cooling season
A system that doesn’t have to work as hard to cool your home
Small problems found while they’re still small
More useful life from the equipment you already own
What's included
A good maintenance visit is hands-on, not a quick glance at the outdoor unit.
Here’s what our technicians check on a cooling inspection. Chemical coil cleaning and evaporator coil cleaning are priced as needed.
Inspect filters, then clean or replace them
Check the indoor coil
Check ductwork connections at the indoor unit
Check indoor blower operation
Clean the condensate drain and clear the auxiliary drain
Check thermostat operation
Clean the condenser coil with water
Check and visually inspect all electrical connections and components
Check voltage and amps on the outdoor unit
Check refrigerant pressure against the manufacturer charging chart
Check the supply and return temperature difference
Check the performance of the total system
Regular maintenance
The best time for an AC tune-up is before you need your air conditioner most.
In Victoria, TX & Surrounding Areas, that usually means spring, before the long stretch of heavy cooling begins. If you’d rather not keep track of tune-up dates yourself, our service contract schedules both of your yearly inspections for you.
Two inspections every year: a cooling check in spring (March through May) and a heating check in fall (late September through mid-December). Plus:
10% discount on parts and labor
Priority service between inspections, with no overtime charge
Coverage for heat pumps, gas furnaces, and electric heat
Automatic yearly renewal, cancel with 30 days’ written notice
First system: $250 per year or $30 per month. Each additional system: $200 per year or $19.25 per month. Some exclusions apply, so ask us for the full terms.
Signs it's time
If your air conditioner hasn’t been looked at in a while, it may already be telling you.
Between visits
Professional maintenance matters, but a few easy habits help your system in between.
Check your air filter monthly
A clogged filter is one of the most common causes of weak airflow and frozen coils. Changing your HVAC filter when it looks dirty is the easiest maintenance there is.
Use the right filter size
The size is printed on the edge of the old filter. Install the new one with the arrow pointing toward the blower.
Keep the outdoor unit clear
Trim back grass, shrubs, and vines, and keep a couple of feet of open space around the condenser so it can breathe.
Keep supply and return vents open
Closing or blocking too many vents can restrict airflow and make the system work harder.
Why homeowners choose AAA
When the person doing your maintenance also repairs and installs systems every day, they know what they’re looking at.
That experience helps us spot a weakening part early and tell you honestly whether it needs attention now or can wait.

At least once a year is the common recommendation, ideally in spring before heavy cooling season. Systems that run hard for long stretches may benefit from more frequent attention. We can suggest a schedule after inspecting your equipment.
A tune-up is preventative. We inspect, clean, and test a working system to keep it running well. A repair fixes something that has already failed. During a tune-up, we’ll let you know if we find anything that needs repair, and you decide what to do next.
It depends on the filter type, pets, dust, and how much the system runs. Checking it monthly during heavy use and replacing it when it looks dirty is a good rule. Many standard 1-inch filters need changing every one to three months.
A clean, properly working system doesn’t have to work as hard to cool your home, which can help with efficiency. Results vary by system, but neglected equipment almost always costs more to run.
Some equipment warranties require proof of regular professional maintenance. Check your warranty paperwork, and keep records of each service visit.

No. Air conditioners have mechanical and electrical parts that can fail without warning. Maintenance gives you the best chance to catch developing problems early and keep the system ready for heavy use.
A tune-up now is a lot easier to schedule than an emergency repair in July.
